I can’t help with a new keyboard either!
We are considering visiting Nefyn in August (possibly 5th-12th) next summer
& would like to find out information about sailing from the beach. We would
bring our own dinghies-Laser 2000 & Pico & would like to know about beach
access, dinghy storage, fees etc. Last year we visited Abersoch- is the
sailing at Nefyn similar?
Many thanks
Gillian Game
Hi Gillian,
Would be great to see you in Nefyn this summer. Access to the beach is directly from a road in all but the highest spring tides.
There are a few 2000’s on the beach and a similar amount of Picos and we race most days conditions permitting.
Secure storage is not possible on Nefyn beach, though there are “pitches” available for rent where you can tie up the boats. If this is of interest, we can get some detials of free pitches for you.
As for the sailing – we think of ourselves as a hardy bunch compared with the gentler side of the peninsula! Importantly, the races are all patrolled with a safety boat and are fun and challenging with stunning views of the mountains. The beach is a great place to let the kids expolore, providing enough room for everyone.
Hope that helps and we see you on the beach in August.
Hi
Do you know of any venue licenced for civil weddings on or near to Nefyn beach? We want a very small ceremony, with beers at Ty Coch afterwards!
Thanks
We will be visiting the Llyn Peninsula the first week of August and would like to sail our Buzz from Nefyn beach. Do I need to do anything to arrange this? Or do we just find a space and park the dinghy on the beach?
If possible, We would also like to take place in some of the races. We normally sail at Carsington Sailing Club in Derbyshire. What do we need to do to register to race?
Hi, hopefully someone might be able to help………..
I am looking to use Nefyn as a base to teach my daughter to sail and wanted to know if there is any courses from the beach this summer and how do I go about buying / renting a beach hut so I don’t have to lug all the gear around everyday?
Regards
Jon
