Friday 13th August 2021, Nefyn Sailing Club Hut, 5.30pm
A scaled down Annual Dinner, will, for this year only, become…..
“The Sundowners Presentation Evening”
This will provide a chance to award the well-earned trophies and brief speeches.
You do not need to purchase a ticket for the event, just come along on Friday at 5.30pm.
Keeping the event outdoors generates a more ‘Covid Safe’ platform and thus will increase the numbers who attend, therefore creating a more inclusive, enjoyable event.
A very warm welcome to the 2021 season. We have made slight changes to allow the club to run this year, thereby ensuring we can have the best of both: an opportunity to sail and socialise, in the safest environment possible. In order to achieve this:
- Take responsibility to do lateral flow tests twice a week. If you need some there are some available in the hut, or you can get them at Nefyn pharmacy.
- Anti-bacterial spray will be on the rescue boat, simply spray and go at the end of your duty.
- Anti–bacterial spray and gel will be available in the hut please spray things down after your duty and use hand gel on arrival to the hut.
- Notices will be displayed in the hut window and on the doors to minimise traffic within the hut.
- Where possible we would like to avoid cash.
- A £10 per week sailing fee has been introduced. This covers all races that week, however many you choose to race!
- Nefyn Sailing Club HSBC Account Number: 91061062 Sort Code: 40-37-30. In the ‘subject’ please put your name and race fees.
We’re delighted that the sailing season is nearly upon us, and will begin on Sunday 1st August, running through to Monday 16th August 2021. The full sailing and social calendar can be found on the tabs above.
See you all there!
We have taken the decision not to run Nefyn Sailing Club this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. We hope this helps to keep our members and the wider Nefyn community safe.
Wishing you all well and we hope to see you sailing in 2021.
During these strange and difficult times, we of course do not yet know when the lockdown will end and can only hope official guidance allows us to travel to Nefyn this summer. We will update with plans as appropriate and wish you all the best in the meantime.
We’re delighted that the sailing season is nearly upon us, and will begin on Sunday 28th July, running through to Monday 12th August 2019. The full sailing and social calendar can be found on the tabs above.
We look forward to seeing you soon and are keeping our fingers crossed for some sunshine and a strong breeze!
We’re delighted to announce the 2018 programme of sailing and social events for Nefyn Sailing Club.
Sailing is due to begin on Sunday 29th July and the socials begin with the Hog Roast on Saturday 4th August. More information can be found here.
We’re looking forward to another wonderful summer and hope to see you there!
We’ve been blessed with some great weather over the last couple of weeks, and we enjoyed near perfect conditions for a junior sailing day yesterday.
With 3 Picos and 2 toppers to play in (kindly lent by NSC members!) the kids split into 2 groups and had a test sail in pairs.
The test sail was a benefit to everyone, as we could assess the level of sailing ability, and see if a race was feasible, while the kids were able to properly get out and test themselves.
The dinner is always a special highlight in the calendar, and the 2016 edition was no exception. Congrats and thanks go to all you 2016 party animals who rocked the Nant!
So many memories (hazily returning for some!) to list; A poignant, witty and reflective remembrance of Margaret Harris, Ian Munro, Barbara Kershaw and Mike Jones from our President Richard George. The invasion of the Mary Berry’s! A beautiful Sunset to match the beautiful people!! Vice Commodore cleaning up at the 100 club (what’s the secret Adrian?!) A dancefloor full of energy and representatives of all generations of NSC members.
Richard George did a great job setting the tone of the evening and reflecting on the sad passing of club members this year
The Invasion of the Mary Berry’s in their lovely marigolds!!
A slightly subdued dancefloor towards the end of the night

Mervyn and Lynn : )
Thanks to everyone who came along to make it such a memorable evening. Special Thanks to Nicky Dymock who pulled together a rocking setlist of Nefyn floorfillers, and our VP of Transport (who can take the roll permanently now – congrats) Amanda Davies who ran the Coach brilliantly.
Thanks for the wonderful gift of my Nefyn Sailing Club Cushion. It’s a lovely reminder of a wonderful experience being Commodore. It’s a great honour and while it’s a lot of work, it is also incredibly enjoyable – and there’s still a couple of weeks left : )

As Lloyd Grossman used to ask on the hit (?!) daytime reality, C-list celebrity show Through the Keyhole – “Who lives in a house like this?”
Step outside into steady rain and balmy August temperatures of 13 degrees, you’re left wondering;
“Who is mental enough to sail on a day like this?”… I think we all know the answer.
